Ex-Date:
The date on or after which a security is traded without a previously declared dividend or distribution. After the ex-date, a stock is said to trade ex-dividend.
If investors purchase a stock on or after its ex dividend date, they will not receive the dividend payment. If investors purchase a stock prior to its ex dividend date, they will receive the dividend payment.

Payable Date:
The date on which a declared security dividend is scheduled to be paid.

Record Date:
This is the date on which the company looks at its records to see who the shareholders of the company are. Stock exchanges set a date usually 2 days prior to the record date, known as the ex dividend date. If investors purchase a stock on or after its ex dividend date, they will not receive the dividend payment. If investors purchase a stock prior to its ex dividend date, they will receive the dividend payment.

Avg Volume:
The number of shares or contracts traded in a security or an entire market during a given period of time. MarketShuttle uses a 3 month average.
To filter out companies based on volume, simply enter a range in the From and To fields.
Market Cap:
Market Capitalization refers to the value of a company, that is, the market value of its outstanding shares. This figure is found by taking the stock price and multiplying it by the total number of shares outstanding.
To filter out companies based on market cap, simply enter a range in the From and To fields.
Share Price:
A share price is the price of a single share of a company's stock. Once the stock is purchased, the owner becomes a shareholder of the company that issued the share.
To filter out companies based on share price, simply enter a range in the From and To fields.
Name / Symbol Search:
Allows to search securities based on corresponding symbol or company name.
Industry:
Allows you to search securities based on their industry.
To filter out companies based on their industry, simply select it under under the industry drop down. You can also filter on multiple industries simontaneously, by either pressing the "ctrl"key while selecting or by clicking and dragging your mouse over several industries.
Sector:
Allows you to search securities based on their sector.
To filter out companies based on their sector, simply select it under under the sector drop down. You can also filter on multiple sectors simontaneously, by either pressing the "ctrl"key while selecting or by clicking and dragging your mouse over several sectors.
Dividend Yield:
The income return on an investment. This refers to the interest or dividends received from a security and is usually expressed annually as a percentage based on the investment's cost, its current market value or its face value.
Dividend yield is calculated by the annual dividend income per share received from a company divided by its current share price. Normally, the higher the yield the more volite the security is.
To filter out companies based on their annual percentage yield, simply select a percent value from the drop down.
Exchange:
The exchange the security is trading under. There are different types of exchanges, including but not limited to OTC, Foreign among others. MarketShuttle allows to screen companies based on the big 3 exchanges: (AMEX, NASDAQ, NYSE)
To filter out companies based on exchange they are traded under, simply select it under under the exchange drop down.
